What learners see when they check an answer, try again and read the explanation.

On a question slide the button reads Check answer and stays greyed out until the learner picks something.
After checking, the answers stay in place and are marked: a filled tick for a right answer they picked, a filled cross for a wrong one, and an outlined tick for a right answer they missed. If you allow another attempt, Try again appears under the answers.
The explanation, if there is one, is on the next page. The up arrow goes back to the marked answers.
