Expiry on a certificate step
A certificate's expiry comes from its validity period. Reminders work the same way.

On an Issue certificate step, the expiry date comes from the certificate's validity period, so there's no field to pick. To change it, choose Certificate settings › and set Expires after.
Reminders work the same way. On the day, choose Flag it only, or Mark it expired and ask them to renew.
