Kinds of step
Every step you can add to a course flow, from modules and menus to emails, groups and uploads.

Content the learner works through
- A module: slides, video or a quiz you've already built, or a new one you build now.
- A message: a short screen with your own words, such as a welcome, a warning, a sign-off or their progress so far.
Change what happens next
- A menu: the learner picks one of a few paths. You set where each path rejoins.
- Course logic: branch on score or group. For example, pass carries on and fail repeats a module, or each group goes down its own path.
- End the course: tells the learner they've finished, with their certificate and score. Nothing runs after it on that path.
Do something in the background
- Send them an email: goes to their inbox, with optional reminders a few days later if they haven't moved on.
- Add them to a group: tags the learner so reporting, reminders and certificates can find them. This was called Group.
Your course integrations
Anything connected on the course's Integrations page, such as Take a payment · Windcave or Save a record · Moodle LMS. See Integrations and payments.

- Request a document or image: the learner uploads a file before moving on.
- Set a variable: save a value, like a score or an answer, for later steps and rules to read.
