Build and change a course flow
What to ask Claude to see, add, move and change the steps in a course.
2 min read
Say which course you mean, then ask for the change the way you'd describe it to a colleague. Claude reads the flow first, so you can refer to steps by number or by name.
See the flow
- "Show me the steps in CPD 2026."
- "Which modules in Confined Spaces aren't in the flow yet?"
Start a new flow
- "Put all 9 modules in Confined Spaces in straight through."
- "Set up Confined Spaces as one a week: each module opens 7 days after the one before."
- "Let learners pick plumbing, gasfitting or drainlaying, then everyone rejoins at self-certification."
Add a step
- "Add Topic 3 after step 2."
- "Add a welcome message at the start."
- "After step 5, send them an email with their certificate, with reminders after 3 and 7 days."
- "Add them to the 'CPD 2026 complete' group before the end."
- "Ask for a photo of each drainage outlet they inspected, up to 3 images, reviewed by Site supervisors."
Change what happens next
- "On the step 5 quiz, 8 or more carries on and below 8 repeats the quiz."
- "Send apprentices down their own path after step 2."
Change a step's settings
- "Make step 6 a draft."
- "Open the site safety refresher 3 days after step 2, by email."
- "Only apprentices and the Auckland region group should see step 4."
- "Change the heading on step 1's card to 'What changed this year'."
Move or remove steps
- "Move the safety refresher to after Topic 5."
- "Take step 7 out of the flow." The step moves to Not in the flow, with its settings kept, so you can add it back later. The module itself isn't deleted.
When Claude has finished, it lists the flow again so you can see what moved and what renumbered.
