Design a certificate template

Design a certificate once in your template library, with its layout, theme and fields, and use it on every course.

Certificate templates live in a shared library, so you can design one and use it on every course.

  1. Go to Settings → Templates and choose Certificates. Each card shows the template with sample data, its layout and theme, and how many courses use it.
  2. Choose + New certificate, or click a template to edit it.
  3. Under Layout, pick Classic, Side band, Minimal or Card.
  4. Under Theme, pick a theme. Colours, fonts and logo come from the theme. To change them, edit the theme in Settings → Theme.
  5. Turn the Logo on or off.
  6. Under Text, edit the fixed wording, for example CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION.
  7. Under Fields, switch on what to show:
    • Learner name
    • Course name
    • Completion date
    • Expiry date
    • Score
    • Certificate ID, so anyone can check it's genuine.
    • QR verify link, which opens the certificate's verify page.
  8. Use Preview with to see it with a real learner and course, and switch between A4 and Letter.
  9. Choose Send me a test PDF to get the file by email, then Save template.

If a course has no value for a field, the field is left off. For example, a course without an expiry date won't show Expires.

To make a template the one new courses use, choose ⋯ on its card and set it as the Default. Any course that hasn't picked another template uses the default.
