Trim a video and edit subtitles

Set where a video starts and stops, and fix its subtitle cues on the waveform.

A video slide has a transport bar under the slide with play, Fill / Fit / Custom, zoom and a waveform.

Trim

Drag the handles at each end of the waveform to set where the video starts and stops.

Subtitles

  1. Choose Edit subtitles. The inspector shows the list of cues.
  2. The cue at the playhead is highlighted in the list, shown on the video and shaded on the waveform.
  3. Select a cue to edit its text. Type the in and out times, or drag them on the waveform.
  4. Use Split and Merge to fix cues that are too long or too short. These are the edits auto-generated subtitles usually need.
