Add media: library, upload, generate or embed

Put an image, video or 3D scene on a slide from your library, an upload, a description or a YouTube link.

1 min read

Open Media in the inspector, or drag a file straight onto the slide. The slot on the slide is outlined while you choose.

From the library

Scenes already in your workspace are listed by filename, type and size. Filter by Images, Video or 3D, or search. Hover a scene for its details, use Preview to see it full-size without changing the slide, then Apply to put it on the slide.

Upload

Drop a file into the upload area or choose Choose. Supported files: JPG, PNG, MP4, GLB and OBJ.

Generate

If you don't have the right image or model, describe it and how.io makes one for you.

  1. In Media, open Generate and choose Image or 3D model.
  2. Describe what you need, for example cutaway of a rainwater tank with first-flush diverter.
  3. Choose Generate. You get a few options to pick from.
  4. Pick one and choose Apply, or change the description and generate again.

Generated images and models are saved to your library, so you can reuse them on other slides. A generated 3D model works like an uploaded one: you can make it interactive and add annotations.

Embed

Open Embed and pick what you're embedding, either a YouTube video or a web object, then paste the link. how.io checks the link and shows a preview with the title, duration and channel, and confirms it can be embedded, so you know it works before you leave the panel.
