Things to know

How working with ChatGPT or Codex in how.io differs, and what none of them can do yet.

  • Ask to see the flow first. "Show me the steps" before a big change means you and the assistant are looking at the same step numbers.
  • Steps it adds are Live straight away. On a course learners are already doing, say "as a draft", check it in the steps view, then set it live yourself.
  • Check in how.io. Reload the course's steps view or the module editor to see the changes.
  • Media files need uploading in how.io. The assistant can read a document you attach and turn it into slides, and add generated images, but it can't upload images or video from your computer.
  • Some things aren't possible yet with any assistant: holding an email back for a few days, choosing when reminders stop, adding integration steps such as Take a payment · Windcave, and swapping the module a step shows. See What Claude can't do yet in Use Claude with how.io.
  • Results vary between assistants. They all use the same how.io actions, but each one decides differently how to use them. If an assistant gets something wrong, tell it what you meant, or make the change yourself in how.io.
